WESTERHALL XXO RUM

TIME HONOURED, GRENADIAN HONOURED.
Celebrating 50 Years of Grenada’s Independence

Westerhall Estate XXO Rum

Westerhall Estate XXO is a blend of Caribbean matured rums aged for twenty-three years in ex-sherry and first fill bourbon oak casks. The rich colour is a result of interaction of the rum with the aromatic compounds of the barrels allowing for complex and layered flavours. You will detect notes of vanilla, caramel, and chocolate with hints of tropical fruit. The extended period of aging allows for the mellowing of the spirit, resulting in a velvety and refined texture on the palate.

23 Years Aged | 43% ABV
Limited Edition

$320 XCD (VAT inclusive) - Available to purchase at Westerhall Estate or retail locations island-wide.

50 YEARS OF GRENADA’S INDEPENDENCE | 1974 - 2024

Grenada is the southern-most of the Windward Islands. The island was sighted by Christopher Columbus on his third voyage in 1498 and he called it “La Conception”. When the Europeans arrived on the island it was occupied by the Carib Indians. The first European settlement on the island was the French in 1649. Grenada was then captured by the British during the Seven Years' War in 1762, and was formally ceded to Britain by the Treaty of Paris in1763. France recaptured Grenada in 1779 during the American War of Independence, however, the island was restored to Britain with the Treaty of Versailles in 1783 where it remained until its independance.

Grenada gained Independence from Britain on 7th February 1974. Sir Eric M Gairy was its first Prime Minister and is often referred to as the Farther of Independence. In February 2024 Grenada will celebrate its 50 anniversary of Independence.
